About the Head Instructor
Ray Palmer first entered the world of martial arts at the age of ten. After trying out different styles as a teenager, at the age of 19, he eventually found a school that ignited a passion for martial arts and the positive effect the teachings can have upon a students mindset and outlook in everyday life. Twenty plus years later that enthusiasm is stronger than ever, for "A Subject that will always challenge and inspire you, if you allow it to".
Ray currently holds a 3rd Dan Grade in Bushido Karate which represents a 22 year Journey with this style alone.
" Remember that a grade is a well earned technical qualification, though lessons need to explore beyond the technique alone. To connect fully to a punch you must go beyond the punch. A lesson that ignores the implementation of the correct mindset will always be incomplete".
"Ive found the Instruction to be of a very High Standard and has given me an understanding of the application of the various Techniques above the normal up and down the line Kicking and Punching. Its a Formal Class with Structure and i find it very enjoyable".
Kohigh Andy Hutchinson
"I Have been Training for 10 Years under Ray Palmer San and still find the lessons as challenging and rewarding as ever".
Sensei Andrew Hantom
"Highest possible standard of teaching in an inspiring and charged atmosphere that has increased my skills, fitness and self confidence beyond my expectations. I would thoroughly recommend this school."
Dohigh John Simpson
“I did Martial Arts when i was young. I felt like something more challenging and more street relevant which i feel is Bushido. The Katas are more challenging and in my case more fun to learn. And the street Defense training gives me more confidence in the street, i feel already more able to defend myself. ”
Kohigh Chris Stanton
"Learning Bushido has taught me transferable skills with practical implications outside of the Dojo. My confidence has grown with these teachings enhancing not only my self-belief in daily life and work environment too. The lessons are creative, energetic and i look forward to each week with an encoraging instructor."
Kohigh Naomi Carley
